Brief synopsis in English:

Historical documentary - part of the program “Dialogues” with MELINA MERCOURI, filmed in Cyprus in July 1975, one year after the Turkish invasion (broadcasted for the first time by ET1 on March 6, 1997). Directed and presented by MELINA MERCOURI, who visits Cyprus and talks with ordinary people including women wives and mothers of missing persons, with officers and men of the National Guard, with GLAFCOS CLERIDES, then delegate of the Greek Cypriot side at the intercommunity talks, and with Archbishop MAKARIOS III. The documentary follows the great march of the women to the graves of the victims of the military coup of 15 July 1974 and of the Turkish invasion, which includes a speech by MAKARIOS III, records testimonies by Greek Cypriots at the refugee camps and at a down-town street of divided Nicosia, and tours the military base at the industrial area of Sopaz. In addition, it includes interviews by Turkish Cypriots of Kyrenia originating from material filmed in the occupied territories by a Dutch crew and used with its permission. A MELINA MERCOURI’s interpretation of the song “Antinanourisma” (music by ELENI KARAINDROU, lyrics by K.H.MYRIS) is also included.

Ιστορικό ντοκουμέντο-απόσπασμα της εκπομπής «ΔΙΑΛΟΓΟΙ» με τη ΜΕΛΙΝΑ ΜΕΡΚΟΥΡΗ που γυρίστηκε στην Κύπρο τον Ιούλιο του 1975, ένα χρόνο μετά την τουρκική εισβολή (προβάλλεται για πρώτη φορά από την ΕΤ 1 στις 6 Μαρτίου 1997). Σκηνοθετεί και παρουσιάζει η ΜΕΛΙΝΑ ΜΕΡΚΟΥΡΗ η οποία βρίσκεται στην Κύπρο και συνομιλεί με τον απλό λαό όπως, τις γυναίκες συζύγους και μητέρες των αγνοουμένων, με στρατιωτικούς και στρατιώτες της Εθνικής Φρουράς, με τον ΓΛΑΥΚΟ ΚΛΗΡΙΔΗ τότε εκπρόσωπο της ελληνοκυπριακής πλευράς στις διακοινοτικές συνομιλίες και με τον αρχιεπίσκοπο ΜΑΚΑΡΙΟ. Το ντοκιμαντέρ παρακολουθεί τη μεγάλη πορεία γυναικών προς τους τάφους των θυμάτων του πραξικοπήματος της 15ης Ιουλίου 1974 και της τουρκικής εισβολής, όπου περιέχεται ομιλία του ΜΑΚΑΡΙΟΥ, καταγράφει μαρτυρίες Ελληνοκυπρίων στους καταυλισμούς των προσφύγων και σε κεντρικό δρόμο της διχοτομημένης Λευκωσίας και περιηγείται στη στρατιωτική βάση της βιομηχανικής περιοχής Σοπάζ. Παράλληλα, μεταδίδει συνεντεύξεις Τουρκοκυπρίων της Κυρήνειας από υλικό που παραχωρεί ολλανδικό συνεργείο με πλάνα από τα κατεχόμενα. Αποτυπώνεται επίσης η ερμηνεία της Μ. ΜΕΡΚΟΥΡΗ στο τραγούδι της ΕΛΕΝΗΣ ΚΑΡΑΪΝΔΡΟΥ, σε στίχους Κ.Χ.ΜΥΡΗ «Αντινανούρισμα».
